The settings in my Zoom account indicate that my account is BASIC. When I click on the settings to upgrade my account, it shows “you are currently on a paid plan”. Do I have a free, unsecure account?

As long as you are logging into Zoom using your EBS account, your account is secure. Every Zoom user account set up by EBS has several layers of protection:

  • SSL (Secure Socket Layer) communication security and privacy over the Internet using encrypted links that keep all data passed between you and your participants private,
  • AES 256-bit encryption – an added layer of application security that encrypts all presentation content,
  • the protection of a BAA (Business Associate Agreement that establishes HIPAA-compliant liability protection between Zoom and EBS Healthcare.

Your Basic account allows you to have unlimited meetings with a 40-minute time limit for 3 or more total participants including yourself. Meetings with only 1 or 2 participants should not have a time limit.

Starting a new Zoom meeting for each scheduled session is recommended. It helps create a better record of your online contact time.
